Multisensory Shell for Joyful sleeping nº1

multisensory perforated shells

The multisensory perforated shells constitute a design topic in order to address the construction of atmospheric joy in architecture. These shells are the geometric enclosure defined by the relational geometry between the human body and a series of sources of sensorial information. These sources include exterior views, sources of exterior air, sources of mechanical cold and hot air, cross ventilation flows, sources of humidity and smell, direct sunlight and indirect exterior light and sources of artificial lighting among others. The relation
between this geometric vectors of sensory information and the human body define an abstract geometric enclosure guided by the idea of atmospheric joy. This abstract enclosure is the frame for further architectural qualification: from structure to exterior and interior cladding and to the precise material definition of sensorial sources and openings to the exterior.
